The Water and Sewer Division will be flushing water mains from Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25.
Flushing will be done between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to remove sediment in the mains and check the operation of fire hydrants and valves.
Particles dislodged during the flushing may temporarily discolor water. While the discoloration is not harmful, it can stain plumbing fixtures and laundry, especially whites.
Please restrict water use and avoid doing laundry during the flushing times.
Prior to washing clothes even after the flushing times, residents should check cold water for possible discoloration and let the water run for a minute or two to clear.
The Town can't fully guarantee the safety of doing laundry in the evenings during the flushing period since the water system has been disturbed.
We appreciate your patience as the Town continues to improve the high quality of Wellesley's water.
