The Wellesley Recreation Commission consists of 5 elected members, who meet regularly to review policy, programs, procedures and the fee structure. The Commission welcomes community input.
"To increase people's enjoyment of living in Wellesley and build a deeper sense of community, as we provide recreational and educational opportunities to all Wellesley residents, regardless of age, ability & means."
The Wellesley Recreation Department offers programs year round and publishes seasonal brochures for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Registration is held 4 times a year.
All Recreation Department programs are self-supporting. Fees charged for programs cover the cost of materials, pay instructor salaries and help defray other costs. Non-residents may register for classes and are charged a $10 per class non-resident fee.
All recreation facilities are maintained by the Park and Tree Division of Wellesley Department of Public Works.
