Public Transportation & Parking

Public Transportation

Wellesley offers a variety of public transportation options that residents are encouraged to explore. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) provide bus, train, subway, and micro transit service to Wellesley. Shifting transportation behavior from individual vehicles to other resources benefits our community.

Currently transportation contributes to 30 percent of greenhouse (GHG) emissions in Wellesley. In 2021, Wellesley Annual Town Meeting adopted goals achieving net zero GHG emissions by 2050, and interim goals of a 50 percent reduction by 2030 and a 75 percent reduction by 2040.
