Records
The Records Division is responsible for the storage of all Wellesley Police reports. in addition, there are several services that the Records Division makes available to the public.
Reports/Fees
Reports should be requested in writing and may take up to 10 days to receive. To request a copy of a report, please email the Records Division.
There is no charge for accident reports or incident reports if they can be released to the public.
Lost & Found
The Records Division handles all lost and found requests. Simply call the Records Division to inquire about a possible lost or found object. Any items turned into the Wellesley Police or located by a police officer is turned over to the Records Division.
Letters of Good Conduct
This is a letter indicating you have no criminal history with the Wellesley Police Department. Two copies of valid photo ID's are required, along with your social security number, address in Wellesley, and phone number. There is no charge for this.
Fingerprints
The Wellesley Police Department will do fingerprints, however, you must provide your own fingerprint cards as the department does not provide them. The service is free to Wellesley residents, all others are $10 per card.
Background Checks/Criminal Offender Record Inquiry
The Wellesley Police Department does not provide background checks or Criminal Offender Record Inquiry (CORI) checks. These checks are conducted through the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board. This includes, but is not limited to background checks for employment, volunteer work, etc.
